Through Her Eyes

Hm, haven't quite posted in awhile, have I? To be honest, I'm still kind of trying to muddle through and get myself into a schedule. Tuesday was the last first day of school for me, and I haven't quite adjusted. I always get sleepy fourth period, but this blazing heat is seriously not helping! Of course when summer ends, the good weather starts...
Anyways, I'll have to play catch-up soon soon soon! But first let me get through tonight's soccer practice, and then Friday tomorrow.

Midnight Musings

You know those nights where you just can't get to sleep? You're super sleepy, but your mind just won't drift into unconsciousness? Yeah. I'm having one of those nights. Tuesday I start my last year of highschool. I have a 'plan'... it's reasonable, sensible, covers all my bases. But I'm not sure that's what I truly want to do. My fear is I'm just going to drift through life, never really doing anything important or worthwhile. I have so many people in my life that have such high expectations of me, including myself. I want to do something big. Something that makes an impact. I want to make change. I want to go to new places, see new things. I want to live life to the fullest. This is a little deep for 12 o' clock, but I find I do my best thinking right before I fall asleep. Don't most people? Snapshots from last year. I no longer have longish red hair, I miss it.

Poor Kitty

These were taken one afternoon a couple days ago before my poor kitty got fixed today. She's in a cone and running into things... and it's alot less funny than I thought it would be. My haul post will have to be delayed... today I woke up early, went grocery shopping with my mama and then went and played video games with my boyfriend. A pretty pleasant day. But tomorrow we're going on a day trip with his family, hiking in the woods, swimming underneath waterfalls, and a long quiet car ride home. And then after that, I have a sleepover! I have no idea where these plans came from, but it's the last weekend before school starts so I'm glad they came. But right now I'm super tired... I may blog some more on Sunday... but Saturday is booked!

TGIF, eh?

Maria in the Park

I've been a bit behind, but I've been busy, so I'll play a little catch up. Friday was shopping! I got staples not statements, but when I said this to Steven he looked at me blankly. I know bloggers will understand that statement ;)

Saturday I became a certified in Emergency First Aid & CPR. Hopefully I'll never have to use it, and to be honest, it'd be quite scary to actually do CPR... if you're doing it correctly, you crack ribs. Ouch.

But these photos are from Sunday, when we went to go see Maria in the Shower at Lionel Park in PoCo. It was really chill, and we love that band. We first saw them on my birthday, which I blogged about in this post!

Afterwards it was one of my friends Surprise Going Away Parties, as she's going away to UBCO to study to become a nurse. I didn't take any photos because I was too busy enjoying myself. There was volleyball and cake and sunshine and stars and it was one of the perfect ways to end the summer. Which is rapidly coming to a close. This is the last full week of summer vacation! I'm not sure if I'm ready to go back, but I like enforced routine. Makes me feel like I'm being productive. Doing nothing all day has lost its charm. Gasp! Is this what growing up feels like?

My first semester is English Lit, Spare (yes!), Biology, and then Law. A good mix if you ask me! I do believe I'll get around to maybe doing a haul post or something later. I need to go thrifting to make up for the Value Village trip I missed. (I slept in. Boo.)

Anyways, have a Magical Monday!

Inspiration

I really need to start documenting where I get my photos from. I've collected these from various blogs/tumblrs/pinterest around the web. If you own the images, or know the source, please let me know so I can credit the people who created these for their beautiful images!
These are just a few of the pictures I've been more or less inspired by recently. The first image is the perfect quote, I think at least, and kind of try and go by that motto. I've been busy the past few days! Soccer on Thursday, major! shopping on Friday, and today I became certified in Emergency First Aid and CPR! Busy busy bee. And if that's not enough, tomorrow I'm going a concert with my friends. Maria in the Shower is performing, and if you haven't heard of them, search them up. They're definitely worth a listen to! After that, we're going to a surprise going away party for a friend that's moving away for University. Of course, I'll try and document it all, and of course do a haul post!
Have a Super Saturday!

Outfit 001

I'm on a roll with posting. I feel accomplished :)
I've decided to start some outfit posts. These are taken in my room, and probably will be until I figure out what I'm doing, haha. The other post here, when I traipsed into the field, kind of consisted of me flailing like a chicken with its head cut off, trying to figure out what to do. A controlled environment like my bedroom is so much less stressful!

I have a full closet. It's a mix of vintage/thrifted/new clothing, and for awhile now I've simply been staring at it in dismay. Maybe it's because it's summer, and all I've been wanting to wear are shorts and a sports t-shirt (if you've played sports all your life, you seem to accumulate a large collection of them), but lately I've been kind of in a style rut. I've not wanted to wear anything in my closet, and looking at just makes me feel trapped.

However, I plan on defeating the closet! I'm going to start wearing things I don't/haven't in a while. Shake things up, force myself to create new outfits.

Believe it or not, I haven't worn this tulle skirt before! I got it at a blow out sale I went to with my friend Emily at True Value Village in Downtown, Vancouver, right before they moved in July. It's the perfect summer skirt. It's 3 layers, however it's very see-through, so I have to wear a slip under it. When I ended up going out however, I actually ditched the jean jacket it was so hot.

I'm wearing:
Jean Jacket - American Eagle (Thrifted)
Salmon V-Neck - Forever 21
Tulle Skirt - True Value Vintage
Belt - Thrifted

Have a Wonderful Wednesday!

A Walk in the Park

I have to say, I asked for a busy day and I got it. Today I woke up early and went driving with my mom. I got my L last November, but I only just started driving, this was only my second time! Eek. I'm not quite sure if I like it, but I figure once I get the hang of it I'll start to enjoy the freedom it entails. But until then, it kind of makes me nervous. Especially when there are other cars in the vicinity.

After driving, we went for a Starbucks run (Mm, Iced Passion Tea Lemonades are the best!) and picked up this apple strudel thing for the picnic we had planned today!
My friends Kevin, Hayley, Emily, and my boyfriend Steven all ambled over to Green Timbers Park, which is only a block from my apartment building. We all brought snacks, like Emily's peanutbutter brownies which were sooo good, and chowed down in the sun. We listened to some music, played some cards and Scattergories, and all in all, had a pretty delightful afternoon.

It was nice, and I have a bit of a farmer's tan. (Ick.)
But if that wasn't enough, I had a soccer practice that I had found out about in the morning. Yay. But it went pretty well, considering the circumstances, but I won't get into that.
Sitting here typing, I'm actually tired at a holy hour. My sleep schedule has been out of whack due to summer, and I really want to get back into, so I'm going to hit the hay. Hope you had a terrific Tuesday!

PS. Steven wasn't too happy about me taking his picture. But he's adorable anyways.

All photos were taken by me.
